Ukrainian Canadian communitiy fetes former prime minister

Being a skeptical swing voter, I cast a rather jaundiced eye on this political public relations exercise. Still, I suppose, credit where credit is due.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper celebrated the historic ties between Canada and Ukraine at a tribute dinner for the Right Honourable Brian Mulroney, hosted by the Ukrainian Embassy and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress.

Details here.

Mulroney was actually good.

Hopefully, when PM Steve next talks to Mulroney he'll ask about the $300,000 from Karlheinz Schreiber.

Who and what are Karlheinz Schreiber and $300k about? (Being a swing voter I am not a diligent follower of partisan politicking and am out of the loop on that.)

Yes BM is a good speaker. But talk is cheap. I'm interested to know why the Ukrainian internment settlement deal was scuttled during his term in office.
