UFOs attacking Ukraine

Um, sure ... I believe it. Millions of others wouldn't, but I would.

The Zond center for the study of anomalous phenomena claims that Ukraine has seen an increase in UFO activity over recent years. ... Most sightings come from large cities with large populations, ufologists say. The Crimea is particularly famous for the number of observations, especially in summer time.

Researchers are not joking when they say UFO appearances over Ukraine may threaten its national security. ... In addition, UFOs may pose a direct threat to witnesses' health and safety. UFOs interacting with the environment sometimes produce distortions in biological life ... and leave noticeable environment effects. ...

I do believe that there are UFOs -- well, maybe not the kind of flying saucers we see in the movies, but there are certainly other forms of life and intellect in the Universe.

No doubt there are ... I just question the veracity of these "sightings." To my way of thinking, if these other life forms go to the bother of getting so close, why wouldn't they make more of an effort to actually make contact with people?

OTOH, I suppose if they're just on a fact-finding mission to first find the most intelligent Earthlings, it's not surprising they're willing to be seen checking out Ukraine. ;-)

Apropos of contacts between aliens and us: most of us have seen anthills and the ants going about their chores; they obviously have certain tasks that they carry out with determination. One might define this as a sign of some intellect on the ant's level. Has any of us ever tried to interfere with their activities or tried to establish contact with them? Or take the dolphins. It is an established fact that they communicate with each other, that they rescue people about to drown... What do we know about them? Very little. My assumption is that we are simply NOT READY for the aliens to make contact... Or take Chornobyl. I remember reading somewhere that the situation at the nuclear power station got out of control and the commission sent from Moscow (it happened back in 1986, under the Soviets) just sat there and watched the instruments, knowing that the end of the world was literally minutes away, and then the process (whatever, I am not an expert) just stopped. Later, the Americans studied their satellite reports and discovered that at precisely the moment that destructive process stopped at Chornobyl there appeared a large number of UFOs right over the place, thousands of miles up in outer space. They hung immobile for some moments and then disappeared as quickly as they had appeared out of nowhere...

Hmm ... American satellites spotting UFOs over Chornobyl when it blew. Has anyone told Tom Clancy? ;-)

OTOH, are we sure it wasn't angels ... ?

No one is sure about angels (except for that beautiful movie, I forget the title, smt like "City of Angels" with two angels seeing mortals off after demise, then one of them falls in love, etc.)
One thing is for sure: Chornobyl was supposed to destroy the planet Eartth, it being a devilish communist design (a number of Soviet scientists wrote letters to the politburo protesting the very idea and especially the site, considering the condition of the strata underneath the project). Well, talk of the devil...

Interesting point you bring up about Chornobyl being a devilish plot to destroy the earth.

The Book of Revelations in the Bible has a passage prophesying a poison star called Wormword (chornobyl in Ukrainian) falling to earth and poisoning a third of the lands and waters. Can't quote chapter and verse, but someone told me about it a while ago and I checked it out. And yep, it's there.
