American astronauts display good taste in music

According to a NASA report issued last Friday:

... Endeavour crew members, Commander Chris Ferguson, Pilot Eric Boe and mission specialists Don Pettit, Steve Bowen, Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper, Shane Kimbrough and Greg Chamitoff, and the station crew, Commander Mike Fincke and flight engineers Yury Lonchakov and Sandra Magnus, were awakened at 8:05 a.m. CST.

The music was for Piper. The song was in the Ukrainian language, which she learned as a child. It was "Unharness Your Horses, Boys," ... performed by The Ukrainians.

Very cool. Not least because the former drummer for The Ukrainians, Dave Lee, is the drummer in the band I now play in.

I will let him know about this article immediately!

I can only agree with Blair... I'm sure that was the first Ukrainian tune ever played in space...

Quite out of this world, wouldn't you say!

That is cool indeed, Blair!

What is the name of your band and what kind of music do you play? If it's Ukrainian to any degree, I want it for my program ... :-)

You're probably right, Vasyl.

And yes I would say, only you beat me to it! Very clever. :-)

Hi Pawlina,

I have to report honestly that our music isn't Ukrainian. But our bass player is!

We're The C-Men and it's all old-school punk.

If we start playing anything Ukrainian, I'll let you and Vasyl know first.
