Very sour!

This is Judy's recipe so as the expert I've asked her to respond with any further clarifications.

Thanks for stopping by and happy pickling!Pawlinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07362158731666165458noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21847606.post-84816540026104920942012-06-02T16:30:44.854-07:002012-06-02T16:30:44.854-07:00my cousin in Ukraine sent me this recipe for pickl...my cousin in Ukraine sent me this recipe for pickles. Can you tell me if this is recipe for fermented pickles or acid marinated?? Do need to refrigerate while pickling?? How long to pickle?? Cousin's recipe does not give details, and to get clarification will take 2 months! Thanks for help.
"2 liters water, 5 tblspoons salt, 1 cup sugar, 2 cups vinegar, 3 horseradish leaves, 3 cloves garlic, black pepper, dill, bay leaf. pour boiling marinade over cukes. add little salicylic acid on top."Chrisnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21847606.post-70844982886113328462009-09-08T11:28:33.264-07:002009-09-08T11:28:33.264-07:00Depends on where you are, but I see it in most maj...Depends on where you are, but I see it in most major supermarkets year round. It may also be labelled "Coarse Salt."

I'm not sure if Kosher salt or sea salt will work, but I do know that the main thing is that it is not iodized.

If it's not in any supermarkets, or WalMart, etc. I would suggest asking them to order it in. Otherwise, check for speciality stores or delis that sell pickling supplies.

You might want to call first to save yourself tearing around the town looking for it.

Good luck, and let me know how you make out.Pawlinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07362158731666165458noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21847606.post-29549534395439489302009-09-07T16:00:59.946-07:002009-09-07T16:00:59.946-07:00Have been looking for pickling salt everywhere to ...Have been looking for pickling salt everywhere to no avail.
