Disastrous flooding in Ukraine

Recent floods in western Ukraine have killed 22 people, destroyed homes, farmland and roads and prompted the evacuation of 20,000 residents. More than 40,000 homes were flooded. Ivano-Frankivsk, Vynnytsia, Transcarpathia, Lviv,Ternopil and Chernivtsi oblasts have been affected. Senior government officials havedescribed the flooding as the worst in a century.

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress in cooperation with Ukrainian Canadian Social Services and Embassy of Ukraine calls on all Canadians to participate in efforts to alleviate the effects of this disaster.

If you would like to help, you can send a donation to Ukrainian Canadian Social Services, Inc., National Headquarters, 2445 Bloor St. W., Toronto, ON M6S 1P7 (cheques should be made out to the“Pomich Ukraini Fund”).

Or you can make a donation online at their website.

I have a question about filing cheque to UCSS. Pay To The:"Ukrainian Canadian Social Services, Inc" Right? Then put it in Memo: "Pomich Ukraini Fund" Correct?

Actually, I think they mean to send (mail) it to the UCSS but make the cheque payable to Pomich Ukraini Fund. Although I'm sure they could redirect the funds if you specified accordingly. Fortunately, it is thinking human beings doing this work rather than computers.
