Canada's New Ambassador to Ukraine

John Baird, Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister, today announced that Troy Lulashnyk will be the new Canadian Ambassador to Ukraine.

Troy Lulashnyk graduated from the University of Winnipeg in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Political Science], and in 1995
with a Masters of Arts in Political Studies.

In 1999 he joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade after working with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission as a nuclear non-proliferation officer and with the Nuclear and Chemical Disarmament Implementation Agency as senior policy adviser.

In 2002, he became director of the department’s Global Partnership Program and, in 2006, director general of its Major Programs Bureau.

Mr. Lulashnyk succeeds Daniel Caron as Canada's Ambassador to Ukraine.

Minister Baird's other appointees announced today can be found at the Government of Canada's website here.

Below is a video of Mr. Lulashnyk discussing Canada's nuclear disarmament policy while in his role as Global Partnership Program Director General.

Looks like Mr. Lulashnyk is a good choice as Canada's next
Ambassador to Ukraine.

Yes, he certainly seems eminently qualified!

Hopefully he will take the time to investigate and clean up the mess the Embassy is in. The training of staff is abysmal, they do not know their job, they are arrogant and unprofessional to say the least
